Editorial policy

What we publish, how we check it, and how to get it corrected.

Principles

How content is produced

Content is drafted with the help of AI writing tools and built into the site by our team. Calculations never come from an AI model: they come from a deterministic engine with exact decimal arithmetic.

Review status: content is not yet reviewed by an independent compensation expert. Until it is, the checks below are what stand between a draft and publication.

Checks before publication

  1. Calculations: every tool is tested against hand-computed values; default examples are recomputed at every build, and the numbers shown in the text come from the same engine as the tool.
  2. Vendor facts: each fact must have an official source URL, a verification date and a confidence level, or it is shown as "not verified".
  3. Pages: automated checks for broken links, accessibility (WCAG 2.2 AA target), mobile layout, canonical and structured data on every page.
  4. Content rules: guides are checked for unsourced figures, unsupported superlatives and missing disclaimers.

Updates

Vendor facts are re-verified every quarter. A profile whose oldest fact is more than 90 days old is flagged; beyond 120 days it is removed from search engines until re-verified. Each guide shows its last update date.

Corrections

Report an error through the contact page. Verified errors are corrected and the update date changes. Vendors can request a correction of a fact about their product with a link to an official source.

Commercial relationships

Editorial decisions are independent of any commercial relationship. See how we make money and how we rank software.
